Joshua Simon

Joshua D. Simon earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University (CMU) in 2019, with majors in fashion merchandising and design as well as public history and a minor in museum studies. He earned a master’s degree from Iowa State University (ISU) in 2022, with a major in apparel, merchandising, and design and a minor in women’s and gender studies. He is currently the Assistant Curator of Exhibits at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum in Grand Haven, Michigan. He is a dress historian and has researched the Gibson Girl and revivals of her style throughout the 20th century, World War II-era women's Coast Guard uniforms, the style of former First Lady Betty Ford, the duality of Saint Sebastian as a Catholic saint and queer icon, and openly sexually fluid Cuban American designer Luis Estévez.
