Costume Society of America’s Midwest Region invites you to the beautiful city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada for Fashioning the Midwest, At the Heart of Turtle Island, a two-day regional symposium in Downtown, Toronto. This event will offer tours of the Bata Shoe Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum along with presentations, social and networking opportunities.


A highlight of the event will be keynote speaker Justine Woods, Curator of Indigenous Collections at the Bata Shoe Museum.

    The Bata Shoe Museum, located at 327 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON, is the host for the CSA Midwest Symposium in Toronto. 


    How to get there:


    • Car/Parking: The Museum does not have a paid parking garage. Street parking and paid parking lots within walking distance of the Museum may be available. Visit https://parking.greenp.com/find-parking/ for parking lots and pricing.
    • Subway: The nearest subway station is St. George (a one-minute walk).
    • Bus: Several bus routes also service the area, providing convenient access to the Museum.
    • Ride-sharing (e.g., Uber, Lyft): Ride-sharing services can drop you off near the Museum entrance, making it a convenient option, particularly if you are coming from a location not easily accessible by public transit.
