Sofia Beraldo is a Master of Arts candidate in Fashion at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). She holds an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Media, Information, and Technoculture from Western University. Under the supervision of Dr. Caroline O’Brien, Sofia’s research focuses on curating star image through wardrobe in 1950s Toronto, using Celia Franca, founder of The National Ballet of Canada (NBoC), as a case study. Sofia has a keen interest in curatorial work, and co-curated an exhibition at The Eaton Centre in 2023 that showcased the fashionable inspirations behind decommissioned costumes from NBoC’s production of Elite Syncopations. Additionally, Sofia serves as the Curatorial and Marketing Coordinator at The Creative School’s Assembly Gallery, where she contributes to planning and promoting exhibitions.
