Southwestern Regional Student Membership


The Mid-Atlantic Region seeks to actively support its student members and will two student annual memberships per year. For more information and to apply, click on the link below.

Student Cohort

CSA’s Southwestern Region announces its inaugural Student Cohort. Consisting of six students, the Cohort program will run from February through December of 2024. Facilitated through CSA Southwestern regional leadership, Cohort members will be supported through:

  • Complimentary student membership to CSA, which includes membership at a national and regional level. Benefits here: https://www.costumesocietyamerica.com/membership-benefits
  • One-on-one mentorship with a CSA Southwestern region member, providing insights into professional development specific to the students’ career paths
  • Quarterly Cohort meetings via Zoom, creating opportunities to meet other Cohort members and including talks by CSA members with advanced professional experience
  • Articles in the CSA Southwestern regional newsletter highlighting each Cohort member


  • Eligibility

    As of the start of the Cohort program, the applicant must be a currently enrolled student at an institution of higher education. Applicants from community colleges, online programs, and at the undergraduate or graduate level are welcome to apply. Applicants who anticipate graduating during 2024 are also welcome to apply, and they will receive support into their transition from student to emerging professional. Applicants must reside within the Southwestern Region’s geography (listed above).

  • Application Procedure

    Email a single PDF document to CSA Southwestern Region Membership Coordinator Annette Becker at annette.becker@unt.edu.  The document should include:

    • One-page letter of interest that details how your current professional development and future career goals align with the mission of the CSA
    • Resume or curriculum vitae
    • Name and email address of one academic reference (ideally an instructor, faculty member, or educational facilitator from your institution of higher education)

  • Schedule

    The application deadline is January 31, 2024 and notifications will be sent in mid-February.
