     The Midwestern Region is now accepting nominations for The Beth Dunlap Award to be presented at the fall Regional Symposium. The Beth Dunlap Award will be offered to a person who has made contributions worthy of the highest commendation and the achievements will have continued importance. Beth Dunlap was one of the founding members of the Midwestern Region. A fashion illustrator and artist, she passed away in 2009.

  • Eligibility

    Qualifications for nomination should include:


    • Governance involvement, scholarly contribution, long term regional support and/or service as a mentor.
    • Must be a current Midwest Regional CSA Member.
  • Application Procedure

    The complete application should be uploaded using  this online submission form that includes:


    • Nominator (supporter)  contact information.
    • Nominee (proposed awardee) contact information.
    • The nominee’s current CV (attachment).
    • 500-700 word essay that describes the nominee’s involvement in the Costume Society of America governance, scholarly contribution to the field of dress, long term regional support and/or service as a mentor to members in the Costume Society of America (attachment).
  • Grant Schedule and Terms

    Application deadline is April 1, 2024.  Applicants will be notified of results by May 1, 2024.


    • Registration fees will be waived for the year of acceptance.
    • An official letter of acknowledgement will be mailed.
    • Announcement and certificate presentation of the award will take place at the Midwestern Regional Symposium.
