Southeastern Region Professional Development Grant
Members are invited to apply for the Professional Development Grant offered by Southeastern Region VI of the Costume Society of America. Awards will be made at a minimum of $250 with the total award not to exceed $1000. Your project may be on any aspect of costume, any technical skill, or any administrative expertise which will further the mission and purposes of the Costume Society of America. The grant money may be applied to research, a course, workshop fees, or travel. Apply to the Southeastern Region VI Professional Development Committee. The Project Proposal must include the following:
Description of your project and explanation of how it contributes to your professional development
A budget page with justification of how the money will be used
One past recipient used the money to conduct research at the Southern Historical Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Another applied the grant money to courses used to gain certification as a personal property appraiser. A recent recipient will use the grant money to travel to various museum collections to study Fortuny Delphos gowns, while another will apply the money toward her travel and registration for a workshop on the use of adhesives.
Requirements for current applicants:
Recipient must be a member of individual status in good standing of Costume Society of America Southeastern Region VI.
Project Proposal submission must meet published deadline of February 15.
Upon completion of the project, all expenses must be documented with receipts and sent to the Treasurer of Southeastern Region VI, Costume Society of America for reimbursement.
A report about the project must be submitted to the CSA Region VI newsletter within one year.
A presentation on the project will be delivered within two years at a Region VI symposium
